To the south of the monastery buildings extends our vegetable garden and fruit trees. Since the garden area is on a slope it is not easy to manage. We are very pleased and grateful for the opportunity to make our own juice and marmalade for our needs. Almost anything can be found in the town of Witten – even a small vineyard. On the southern slope “on the cliff “(auf der Klippe) sturdy vines grow. When the sisters are looking for tranquility and solitude they can go to the garden or stay in the hermitage to devote themselves to contemplation.
